Empress Zaryyna

The Krothean Monarchs are a very recently discovered sub-race of Krotheans, somewhere between Sirens and Deathlords in power. Their identifying physical attribute are the empty, glowing, bright white, deep red or light purple eyes that lie behind an enveloping hood. Also characteristic is their wielding of the Terrormoon- the  sickle-like weapon you see in Empress Zaryyna's left hand. This weapon may only be wielded by Krothean royalty. This sub-race of Krothean only has three known members- King A'lekto, Banshee, and Empress Zaryyna. Most Krotheans revere their royalty as gods, which has confused anthropologists as to why a civilization so technologically advanced would hang on to a cult-like religious reverence of royalty, or why they still have royalty at all.

     "The Krotheans are a terrifying sight to behold, and equally as terrifying is their ability to more than justify their appearance with awesome physical strength, mobility, and resistance to physical damage. But perhaps the most frightening aspect of their physique is the tremendous amount of heat their bodies put off. I feared I would spontaneously combust from coming too close to one.
     Despite the initial sense of terror, the Krotheans are surprisingly hospitable. Not only did their Empress herself appear to greet me, but she offered dinner in her palace! I must comment on her physique, though- she is by far perhaps the most frightening Krothean I have met since my encounter with an escaped lunatic of the same species, for one reason: You cannot see her face, save her eyes. It is enveloped in a very thick hood, and all that is visible to any degree are her deep red, pupil-less eyes. It was unnerving to look at, and I averted my eyes often, for I found myself staring into her hood, to try to find something else.
    I was presented with an axe at the end of my stay, and I have hung it on the wall of my office, as well as the picture Her Majesty allowed me to take of her."
